High Voltage/Generator Commissioning Engineers

We currently have job openings for ‘High Voltage Commissioning Engineers’ to join our team, preferably qualified to HND level or above in Electrical Engineering, or with an equivalent level of qualification/experience.

As an ‘HV Commissioning Engineer’ your responsibilities will include the commissioning of Generators, Generator Protection Systems, Excitation Systems and Synchronising Systems. This will involve electrical testing of the Generator, secondary injection testing of Generator Protection and Synchronising systems using equipment such as Omicron 256/356. The ‘dynamic’ commissioning stage is used to test and tune the Excitation system before synchronising the Generator with the power system and completion of final commissioning ‘on load’.

We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic, dynamic engineers who would like to challenge themselves and further their careers.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a career in an area of the power generation industry which few engineers can access. With the prospect of international travel the position is suited to individuals who can handle the pressure of working alone but also within a team; someone who enjoys the adventure of new experiences.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Generators, Excitation systems and Protection Relay testing. All candidates must have good ability to read electrical drawings and understand control relay logic. An understanding of three phase electricity is essential. Experience with PLC’s is also advantageous. High Voltage training will be provided for candidates who do not have experience working with high voltage systems.

Any graduates with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering and seeking a career in Power Engineering are also welcome to apply. Any applicants must be willing to travel for periods of 4 to 6 weeks overseas to various destinations. Down time is provided in between assignments. Salary levels and benefits will be provided on application; based on qualifications and experience.
